Description:
This newly expanded 450 hour program is designed specifically for those individuals who wish to change their career directions. Students will meet Monday through Friday, 8:30 am - 3:00 pm for a 15-week period and must fulfill an externship in a local medical facility. The program includes medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and completion of medical reports and summaries using a transcription machine and computer. Graduates are well prepared to find employment in a doctor's office, hospital, clinic, or at home as a self-employed Medical Transcriptionist. Prerequisites are a High School Diploma or GED and keyboarding at 40 words per minute. Program to be held at the Summit Extension Site.
