OSHA requires a minimum of twenty-four (24) hours of initial off-site instruction for employees who are members of Emergency Response Teams for their companies. These personnel respond to chemical emergencies. This technician course is not intended to be site-specific. Employers are still required to provide additional training for their employees that covers the specific operations at their facility. This course would cover the basic elements that would be in most emergency response training programs.
