Description:
This course is presented based on the new NYS DOH AEMT-CC Critical Care curriculum. The course is for EMS personnel who wish to acquire new and/or additional advance life support skills. ALS skills include: intravenous (IV) therapy; advance airway management including endotracheal intubation; also manual defibrillation, dysrhythmia recognition, advance patient assessment techniques, and pharmacology skills for respiratory and cardiac patients. In addition to the required classroom hours, the student must completed an extensive clinical experience in a hospital setting and internship with an ALS ambulance. The course is open to all NY DOH certified EMT Basic and AEMT- Intermediate personnal whose certifications are valid.
