Description:
This course is presented based on the new NYS DOH EMS AEMT- Intermediate curriculum. The course is for EMS personnel who wish to acquire new and/or additional advance life support skills. ALS skills include intravenous (IV) therapy; advance airway management including endotracheal intubation; also semi-automatic defibrillation, advance patient assessment techniques. The class will meet two evenings a week from 7:00-10:30pm. In addition to the required classroom hours, the student must complete a required clinical experience in a hospital settings and internship with an ALS ambulance. The course is open to all NYS DOH certified EMT Basic personnel whoe certifications are valid through the end of the course.
