This course covers the new NYS DOH EMT-B curriculum. Course content will introduce Basic Life Support concepts, knowledge and skills to the prospective Emergency Medical Technician. Topics covered include Body Substance Isloation (BSI), medical/trauma patient assessment, airway management, CPR, hemorrhage control, splinting, spinal immobilization, shock resuscitation, environmental and medical emergencies. Also covered are the NYS Department of Health EMS medical/ trauma protocols and automatic defibrillation for the EMT. Class size is limited, register early to assure a seat.
