This course is designed for the training of non-EMT's and provides the student with sufficient information and training to ensure competency in defibrillation using an AED and to inegrate this skill into the treatment of a cardiac arrest patient. Topics include: chain of survival and CPR review, victim assessment, indications and contraindications for defibrillation, the human dimension, legal and ethical issues and DNR form recognition, and AED operation, maintenance and troubleshooting.
