Description:
This course is intended to be an introductory, interdisciplinary exposure to the visual, verbal, and performing arts. The basic elements of many art forms will be investigated, as well as concepts each form has in common with the other. Distinctive characteristics of music, painting, sculpture, architecture, theatre, dance and photography will serve as focal points. The course is also available as MUS 100 and THA 100. It is open to music and art majors. The course is recommended for the non-music and non-art major or students without previous music or artistic experience. (Usually offered Fall and Spring semesters.) Meets SUNY General Education requirement for The Arts (AR) Meets SUNY General Education requirement for Western Civilization (WC)
