This course is a broad survey of prehistoric and early historic cultures as revealed by archaeological research and historical records. Students will investigate important techniques and methods in Archaeology including excavation techniques, analysis and interpretation of data, and dating the arachaeological past. Students will also explore our current understandings and unresolved issues in human prehistory, agricultural origins, the origin and decline of civilizations, and the history and cultural develoment of representative early civilizations in the Old and New World.
