This course is an introductory unit intended to give the student a global, national and regional perspective of aquaculture in terms of its historical development and current status. The course gives an overview of the culture of some of the various species under commercial production. Students will also examine the differences in the life cycle of a species under natural conditions and under cultured conditions and discuss culture practices to enhance growth.
