Description:

This course is designed to train operators in the safe and effective operation of advanced wastewater treatment plants. Federal and State regulators now often require more effective wastewater treatment, and the removal of nitrogen and phosphorus has been emphasized as a means of meeting the higher water quality standards. Because the operator of an advanced wastewater plant must be capable of making informed treatment decisions, the course provides operators with decision-making options. The course also benefits operators who wish to advance their careers by taking higher-level certification examinations. Prerequisite: completion of a basic wastewater treatment course. Text: Advanced Wastewater Treatment, approximately $50 at the College bookstore.
