PDCC 060 - Dress Successfully

Institution:
Massasoit Community College
Subject:
Professional Developmnt Center
Description:
Your wardrobe can be an effective business tool for telling our fellow workers who we are. Our choice of work clothes sends strong non-verbal messages about how we perceive our job and ourselves. It also can affect the way we perform at work. Today, after an era of "casual business dress" many employers have mixed feelings about the current trend towards increasing casual business attire. This is due to the fact that some employees have "pushed the boundary" as to what is acceptable as "casual business wear". In most companies, an employee becomes part of a team. We all know that teams perform better when everyone is on the same page. That also includes dressing like our colleagues who are successful. The age of "business formal" is making a return to the world of work. It doesn't matter what your job is; but looking successful is the first step to being successful. This workshop will focus on how we can develop the image that we are trying to portray at the workplace.
