Description:
This course is designed to introduce the student to the role of the nurse in the total program of maternal and infant care. The family-centered approach is used. Emphasis is placed upon the study of relationships and resposibilities as the family expands. Lectures, demonstrations, and discussions are used as well as selected learning experiences in the clinical field. This course may be taken during the first or second half of the semester. Prerequisites: Anatomy & Physiology I (BIOL201), General Psychology (PSYC101) and a grade of C or better in Nursing I (NURS101) Pre/Corequisite: Anatomy & Physiology II (BIOL202)
