This course is designed to provide a foundation for nursing practice. The focus is on the nursing process, the patients and their families as community members, and the adaptations in their patterns of daily living necessary during illness. Emphasis is placed on health and hygienic practices for the nurse and patient. Content includes the interpersonal relations, observations, communications, nutrition, basic pharmacology and therapeutic measures. This course has a clinical component. Pre/Corequisites: Anatomy and Physiology I (BIOL201) and General Psychology (PSYC101)
