Description:
The development of the office of the President from the tenure of George Washington to the present serves as the focus of this course. A major emphasis is placed on the period from the presidency of Franklin D. Roosevelt through the current presidency. Among topics to be considered are the way domestic problems (such as the economy) and international involvement have changed the Presidency and the emergence of new relationships between and among the President, the Congress, and the Courts. Prerequisites: Preparing for College II (ENGL092) and Introductory Writing (ENGL099) or waiver by placement testing results or Permission of Instructor
