This course prepares students to complete a fillet weld test coupon successfully and safely using the shielded metal arc welding process (SMAW), after a combination of classroom study, review, and hands-on application and practice in the welding shop. Students also learn the proper techniques required to set up and safely operate an oxyacetylene cutting torch and associated equipment. Lecture: 1 hour Laboratory: 2 hours
