			This course provides a broad overview of the field of gerontology, focusing on older adult characteristics, sociology of aging, theories of aging, stereotypes, and ageism, mental health and wellness of aging. It meets continuing education approval for 5 contact hours in certain states for nurses and social workers. The course is instructor-led on-line, runs for 6 weeks and consists of 12 lessons. Lessons are supplemented by interactive quizzes, assignments, tutorials, and on-line discussion. All materials will be made available over the Web, and all you need to get started is Internet access, an e-mail address, and a Web browser.
