The student is placed at an on-site training center under the supervision of a director/lead teacher for 150 hours per semester. A minimum of 12 hours per week is required. Management skills such as personnel hiring, supervision, and evaluation as well as understanding the regulations that govern group care are developed. The student also understands the importance of addressing multi-cultural issues when initiating community support and interaction and assumes the responsibilities for the full range of teaching and care giving. Prerequisites: Practicum I in Child Care (CCED401) passed with a grade of "B-" or better or Departmental Approval; and Early Childhood Curriculum: A Multi-Cultural Perspective (CCED111) Corequisites: Administration, Supervision, and Management of Early Childhood Programs (CCED201) and Seminar II in Child Care Management (CCED408)
