Are you a business professional who writes letters, memos, reports, or email as part of your job? Are you comfortable doing that? Would you like some help? In our fast-paced, four week course, we'll cover the physical setup of letters, including the optimal number of typewritten lines for paragraphs; writing for your reader; language choices; cutting the fat; purposes and message; and using active and passive voice effectively. We'll examine some examples of bad writing and spend time rewriting them. We'll also talk about effective proofreading. At the end of the course you'll know how to write more easily and effectively to gain the result you intend. Please bring one of your own examples to class so you can mark it up as we go along.
