Try a new career direction! This introductory certificate program is designed for entry-level Human Resources professionals or for individuals considering a new career direction or credential. During Part 2, the three major areas addressed are compensation and benefits, learning and organizational development, and HR as a strategic business partner. Participants learn about government-mandated benefits, various methods of pay and retirement, and how to effectively design total compensation and benefits packages. Also addressed are methods for assessing staff training needs, designing effective training curricula, setting performance objectives, and facilitating organizational development. Finally, the new HR role as a strategic business partner is explored in terms of organizational change management, implementation policy and risk reduction. Parts 1 and 2 are offered on a rotating basis. Part 1 can be taken next semester. Book required.
