Description:
Students refine traditional camera and darkroom technique by mastering low light and difficult to meter situations, controlled lighting, and advanced processing and printing controls. Assignments include photo illustration of art director concepts, applied graphic techniques, and the photo essay. Photographic seeing and the use of aperture and shutter as creative controls to heighten the communicative power of photographs are covered in depth. Photography as fine art, and practical applications of photography in modern society are included as important adjuncts to the development of individual technique through extended individual projects.
