Description:
Students learn how to operate a 35mm camera while exploring the fundamentals of photography. Shutter and aperture controls, light meter calculations, adjustable focus and depth of field will be covered. This course stresses photographic composition as a vehicle for artistic expression. Lectures and demonstrations will be combined with developing and printing black and white film using an enlarger in a traditional darkroom. Students are required to have a fully manual camera and tripod. Students supply film, photo paper, developing tanks, and reels. Lecture: 2 hours Laboratory: 2 hours
