An introduction to residential construction techniques with an emphasis on basic construction skills. Students explore the safe work habits of trades people, construction systems and material handling. Topics include site assessment, material analysis, safe use of power and hand tools, framing, insulation, thermal control practices, and design process overview. Students integrate green, environmentally-responsive practices into each component of the course. Special Requirement: Students must be 18 years of age (Offered: Every Fall) Prereq: MAT 090, COL 090, and ENG 090 or satisfactory placement test scores. Recomm: MAT 105
