Explores art making practices that emphasize conceptual and procedural measures over material and aesthetic concerns. Through assignments, discussions and lectures students analyze the work of conceptual artists and the historical context that influenced them. Students explore mark making, photography and video as vehicles for validation, communication, documentation, and exhibition of conceptual artworks. Prereq: ART 121, ART 131 and two 200-level ART courses, or permission of the instructor.
