Advanced course covering simulation & treatment procedures, terminology & technique. Includes the study of localization of tumor volume, dose to critical structures, brachytherapy placement & treatment planning. This is an advanced course covering radiation oncology simulation terminology, design, operation, patient immobilization, clinical treatment planning techniques and procedures. This course will present current clinical radiation oncology practices specific to malignancies that were not addressed in AL 307. Oncology topics discussed over these cancers will include epidemology, etiology, tumor staging, tumor volume localization, tumor dose recommendations, dose to critical structure thresholds, external beam and brachytherapy treatment planning and delivery techniques.
