The history & general principles of simulation & treatment procedures, terminology & technique are studied. Includes localization, immobilization, beam modifiers & treatment planning. This course will study tge history and general principles of radiation therapy treatment procedures including treatment planning and treatment delivery techniques. This course will also present current clinical radiation oncology practices for specific malignancies commonly seen in the clinical setting. Oncology topics pertaining to common tumor volume localization, tumor dose recommendations, dose to critical structure thresholds and external beam and brachytherapy treatment techniques.
