This course is an introductory survey of the history of Hispanic film, and how film reflects and shapes Hispanic history, culture and society. The course can focus on a particular Spanish-speaking country. Special attention will be paid to the study of significant movies, stars and directors, as well as basics of critical language needed to talk and write about film. Prerequisite: SP 312 or consent of instructor.
