DANCE COMPOSITION & IMPROV I FOR PRE-MAJORS Prerequisite: DAA 1104 or DAA 1204 or departmental approval. This course includes analysis of dance movement through the art of choreography. Students will experience movement imagery designed to develop the dancer's imagination and will explore basic spatial, rhythmic and dynamic materials through choreographic approaches and movement explorations involving writing, demonstrating notations and the dance environment in relation to theatre. In addition, students will reasearch and present a choreographic and written analysis of U.S. and world history dance explorations, and the effects of psychological experiences communicated through movement will be explored. Multiple credit course. May be repeated for credit but grade forgiveness cannot be applied. (Special Fee: $25.00)
