Running an effective department requires good management skills. This workshop will focus on the special skills relevant to accounts payable. Accounts payable managers have the difficult task of raising issues within the organization in setting policies that govern critical issues. Such matters as taking discounts, cleaning up vendor files, payment timing are issues that often must be brought up to management. If the accounts payable manager does not raise the issue, the matter will be ignored-often to the detriment of the company's bottom line. Just a few of the many topics covered are: invoice handling, check preparation printing and filing, exception and rush processing, errors and duplicate payments, making your Accounts Payable Department first rate, managing the staff and staff motivation and morale. Each participant will receive a copy of Mary Ludwig's book, "Accounts Payable: A Guide to Running an Efficient Department.
