ARCHITECTURAL STRUCTURES I Prerequisites: ARC 2303; and MAC 2233 or MAC 2311; and PHY 1053C This course covers principles of statics and strengths of materials; structural mechanics and the effects of loads and loading on building elements and frames. Topics include stress and deformation, properties of sections, gravity loads, shear and bending in beams, and stresses in columns, with focus on analysis and design of wood structural systems.
