Description:
Examines a variety of pedagogical approaches based on competing theories about literacy. The laboratory experience for this course involves teaching in public school classrooms. Students study language diversity and culturally responsive pedagogy with children from a variety of racial, economic and ethnic backgrounds. Additional teaching assignments also are required. Same as English 356. Prerequisite: EDUC 230, 225, and 327.
