A study of how the natural environment is socially construc- ted through its representation in word and image. After introducing students to fundamental environmental termin- ology, the course will consider a number of key environ- mental communicators, their ideological positions, and how they shape their messages. This will be followed by a dis- cussion of audiences and environmental communication ethics.
