Oceanic, African, Native American Art is designed as an introduction to Non-Western art, art history & issues in the visual culture of those small-scale societies. Both trad. & modern concerns of visual culture will be explored. Emphasis is placed on approaches to the study of non- western art, the indentification of works, styles, artists & the broad context in which each piece was conceived & executed.
