(MUSC-250 or permission of department) Written theory is a study of notation, key intervals, chords four-part writing, melody, structure, simple analysis, instrumental ranges and transposition. Keyboard lab is a study of basic keyboard skills, music reading, techniques, playing simple intervals, major, minor, augmented and diminished triads, major and minor scales, cadences, and simple melodies with accompaniment. Aural theory is identi- fication of simple intervals, scales, four types of triads, cadences, simple rhythmic and melodic dictation.
