CHEE 203 - Numerical/Statistical Analysis

Institution:
BridgeValley Community and Technical College
Subject:
Chemical Engineering
Description:
This course will cover methods of numerical and statistical analysis that will be routinely used in the upper division Chemical Engineering curriculum. Topics to be adressed in this course are: (1) Interpolation and approximation of functions, (2) Numerical integration, (3) Numerical solution of linear and nonlinear algebraic equations, (4) Numerocal solution of ordinary differential equations, (5) Basic theory of statistics, (6) Comparison of means, (7) Analysis of Variance, (8) Regression analysis, (9) Factorial design of experiments. Emphasis will be placed on applications. Enough theory will be covered to provide an understanding of the limitations of each technique. Software packages such as spreadsheets and equation solvers will be primary tools for problem solution.
