This course provides campus lab and externship experiences for students to apply the theory learned in MAS 210 Clinical Medical Assistant II. Fundamental processes are further reinforced and students progressively advance into direct patient care in the physician's office or ambulatory care settings. Students are trained in specimen collection, patient education, phlebotomy skills, and other diagnostic testing as permitted with the scope of practice of the clinical medical assistant in both campus lab and an externship.
