Description:

This course familiarizes the student with all phases of mechanical power transmission. Topics covered in the course include: basic physics, mechanical advantages and energy conversions of the equipment used in industry. This course covers almost any mechanical device such as gear drives, belt drives and chain drives. Shaft alignment will be introduced using the dial indicator and laser beam methods as well as basic bearing maintenance. Hands-on training will be used for alignment and bearing installation and removal.
