The course is designed to acquaint the student with basic principles of operating mobile hydraulic cranes. The student is taught to perform pre-operation inspection of crane, how to use the "Load Moment Indicator" (LMI) as an operational aid, use accepted safe operating practices and procedures, give and receive universally accepted mobile crane hand signals, and interpret load charts and range for the safe operation of mobile cranes.
