This research course facilitates the judicious use of financial statements and other sources of company financial information in various management decisions. Students examine opportunities for earnings management and management of other information possible in today¿s regulatory and economic environment, enabling them to identify company reality which is often hidden by allowable reporting choices. Course activities include identifying reporting latitude, exploring recent company attempts at information management, and documenting the relative transparency of company financial information in the US and abroad.
