Molecular Genetics of Prokaryotes. Topics can include: structure of the macro molecules protein and DNA, replication of DNA , protein synthesis (transcription and translation), genere pair, mutagenesis, regulation of geneaction, bacteriophages, plasmids, transposable elements, recombinant DNA techniques and genetic engineering. Emphasis on problem solving and research. Prerequisites:BL 1401, 1402, CH 3411 and completion of or concurrent registration in CH3412. (Lecture 3 hours; Lab 4 hours.)
