This course is designed to focus on quality improvement and assessment in a variety of healthcare settings. Emphasis will be placed on implementation of quality improvement tools and techniques as they relate to the health information department activities of acute care hospitals, hospital outpatient and emergency departments, ambulatory care settings, and other healthcare facilities. Quality improvement and assessment techniques as they relate to the medical staff will also be addressed. Pre-requisite: admission to HIT major or permission of program director; HIT 2110; HIT 2120
