Prerequisite: HLTH 1230, HLTH 1235, HLTH 1238, HLTH 1270; or permission of program coordinator This course, in conjunction with HLTH 1230 ICD-9-CM Coding, HLTH 1235 CPT Coding, and HLTH 1270 Physician Medical Reimbursement, is designed for coders to advance their skills in physician coding with emphasis on procedural, diagnosis and medical supply coding and specific carrier guidelines for prompt reimbursement. This course seeks to broaden coding skills and helps prepare students to excel as medical coding and billing professionals within the health information management realm. (3 contact hours)
