Description:
Prerequisites: ELEC 1300, or permission of the instructor. VHDL (VHSIC Hardware Descriptive Language) is an IEEE standard as well as an ANSI standard for describing digital designs. This course introduces the student to the basic concepts, language and applications of VHDL. The student will create combinational logic circuits and hierarchical designs using VHDL entity declarations, architecture bodies and signal assignments. ( 3 contact hours: 1 lecture, 2 lab)
