RADT 1007 Introduction and Ethics in Radiologic Science Content is deisgned to provide an overview of the foundations in radiography and the practioner's role in the health care delivery system. Principles, practices, and policies of the health care organization(s) are examined and discussed in addition to the professional responsibilities of the radiographer. Content is designed to provied a fundamental background in the elements of ethical behavior. The student will examine a variety of ethical issues and dilemmas found in clinical practice. An introduction to legal terminology, concepts and principles will be presented. Topics include misconduct, malpractice, legal and professional standards and the ASRT scope of practice. The importance of proper documentation and informed consent is emphazised. This is a required course for the Radiologic Science cohort. Prerequisites: Acceptance into the Radiologic Science program. 2-0-2. (Su)
