NURS 4103 Pathopharmacology 2 credits 2 class hours The importance of medication knowledge and management is critical to the role of the professional nurse. This course combines Pathophysiology, the study of disease proceses, with pharmacology, the use of medication to address physiological and psychological issues. Major health problems are taught conceptually and address pediatric, adult and aging issues in the medication administration and management. Concepts that are essential for understanding and treating alterations in organ and system function are analyzed. Clinical presentations stress the etiology, pathogenesis, treatment and pharmacological management.
