MGMT 3320 Operations Management 3 class hours, 3 credits Traditional, total quality, just-in-time, best cost, capacity and constraints management philosophies applied to manufacturing and services. Operations management is the integration of these philosophies and takes a systems perspective to long and short-range planning, scheduling, executing, controlling and measuring operations and related functions in providing effective businesses processes to achieve organizational goals. Topics covered include TQM, continuous improvement, statistical process control, six SIGMA, MRP, JIT, and project management techniques like GANTT and PERT.
