Strongly recommended: ENGL 101 or 103. Also, READ 099 if required by reading placement or if required by reading level. This honors course is an introduction to film as literataure, designed to give students an understanding of the applicaiton of literary analysis to film. Critical analysis of such works from various perspectives is exemplified through res earch and written analysis. Special emphasis is given to the quality of writing and illustgration of award-winning books and selected classics. 36 lecture hours.
