Strongly recommended: READ 099 if required by reading placement exam or if required by reading level. This course will be taught through practical experience and a series of discussions. A variety of topics will be covered including health, nutrition, sex education, discipline, self-esteem, reading and literacy, library use, media evaluation, hospitalization and illness, divorce and separation, death, parents as teachers, play techniques, and community resources. Offered for Pass/No Pass grading only. This course may be taken four times. 9 lecture hours.
