Prerequisite: MATH 130. Corequisite: MATH 150. Strongly recommended: READ 099 if required by reading placement exam or if required by reading level. This course provides each prospective multiple subject teacher with an introductory survey of the fundamental concepts of chemistry and physics and the interrelationships among these disciplines. Emphasis is placed on the ways in which chemistry and physics affect everyday life and the role of these disciplines in addressing issues and problems related to energy and the environment. This course is recommended for students planning to take the CSET Multiple Subject Exam to become credentialed elementary school teachers in the State of California. This is the same as PHYS 106. 54 lecture hours, 54 lab hours.
