MUS 231. Advanced Integrated Theory I (4). Advanced theory of music correlating concepts of part writing, sight singing, ear training, dictation and keyboard harmony. Part writing skills using 7th chords, secondary dominants and altered non-harmonic tones, modulation and borrowed chords; sight singing and dictation skills through altered intervals and syncopated rhythms; keyboard skills realizing a figured bass. Required of music majors. Prerequisite: MUS 132. Four lecture. One lab.
