This is a basic course in the growth, development, and learning of young children, prebirth through age eight, which will provide students with the foundation for becoming competent early childhood professionals with a knowledge of how young children grow, develop, and learn. Major theories of child development will be integrated with all aspects of development including biological, physical, social, cultural, emotional, cognitive, and language domains.
